The Bridge for Mezzo-soprano and Guitar by Christopher Alexander ($16.00)

The Bridge is a song cycle for voice and guitar. The poetry is taken from three poems by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The first song comes from the first verse of Longfellow’s poem “The Bridge,” the second is from “The Fire of Driftwood,” the third is “The Tide Rises The Tide Falls,” and the last is the seventh verse from “The Bridge.” All of the poems are set during the night which is an underlying theme in the cycle.

Vocalise by Sergei Rachmaninoff, arranged for Guitar Quartet with voice or solo instrument by Glenn Caluda. Includes soprano and contrabass guitar parts. Intermediate difficulty ($25.00)

Three Songs by Edvard Grieg arranged by William Slate

Each of the beautiful songs presented here — “Jeg Elsker Dig,” “Solveig’s Song,” and “Våren” — has been a treasured classic of the soprano repertoire for generations. Most often accompanied by a piano or occasionally a string orchestra, they sound wonderfully “natural” and convincing with a guitar as well, blending that instrument’s warmth and intimacy with the composer’s timeless melodies. It is hoped these new arrangements for soprano and guitar — which include lyrics in Norwegian or Danish as well as English — will make Grieg’s beloved songs accessible to a wider circle of musicians and audiences. ($12.00)

We are delighted that the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen near Bergen, Norway — one of that country’s most revered cultural sites dedicated to Grieg’s memory — has selected this edition for display and sale. The author and Guitar Chamber Music Press are honored to be there.
